Portrait Commission
Creating portraits that preserve legacy, celebrate character, and honor the people who matter most.
A Shared Practice
Alongside my personal collections, I welcome a limited number of portrait commissions each year.
Rather than viewing commissions as separate from my personal work, I see them as an extension of the same artistic practice—guided by careful observation, thoughtful collaboration, and a commitment to classical craftsmanship. Every portrait becomes part of an ongoing pursuit to create work that is both meaningful and enduring.
Commission Philosophy
A portrait is more than a likeness.
It is a way of preserving the character, presence, and story of a person whose life has meaning to others. Long after memories begin to fade, a thoughtfully crafted portrait continues to speak across generations, becoming part of a family’s history and legacy.
For me, portraiture is an act of careful observation and respect. My goal is not simply to recreate someone’s appearance, but to create a painting that reflects something genuine about who they are and the life they have lived.
Who I Create Portraits For
Every portrait begins with a story.
Whether celebrating a remarkable achievement,
honoring a loved one, preserving a family legacy,
or recognizing a life devoted to making a difference,
My goal is to create portraits that become lasting
heirlooms for generations to come.
Celebrating a Milestone
A graduation, retirement, anniversary, or personal achievement worthy of lasting remembrance.
Honoring a Legacy
Recognizing a lifetime of contribution, leadership, or service.
Preserving Family History
Creating an heirloom that can be shared across generations.
Remembering a Loved One
A tribute to someone whose presence continues to shape the lives of others.
Celebrating a Life’s Work
For artists, musicians, authors, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals whose dedication deserves to be preserved.
Commemorating an Organization
Honoring founders, leaders, or significant milestones within a company, institution, or community.
Before You Inquire
Portrait commissions are best suited for collectors who value original fine art, traditional craftsmanship, and a collaborative creative process.
If you are looking for a portrait that celebrates an important person, preserves a meaningful story, or becomes a lasting family heirloom, I would be delighted to hear from you.
The Commission Process
I accept a limited number of portrait commissions each year to ensure every painting receives the time, care, and attention it deserves.
Before requesting a commission, I encourage you to review the available portrait sizes, investment, and timeline to ensure the project is the right fit for both of us.

Please email vicyuart@gmail.com expressing your interest with a high-resolution image of your portrait, and the story behind why you want to collaborate on the portrait. Including the subject, purpose of the commission, preferred size, and any important details you’d like to share.
2. Review & Confirmation
I personally review every inquiry. If your project is a good fit for my practice and commission availability, I’ll contact you to discuss the portrait, answer any questions, and confirm the next steps.
